“Landslides” – Jaylord U. Tan Tian

Landslides are common in the hills and mountainous parts of the Philippines. As systems to determine an area’s landslide risks are being developed, the relevant concern of community-based solutions to such problems must be provided. A manual for site-specific solutions would provide necessary mitigations for landslides for a community’s capacity or at the very least, know if they need to evacuate, and where to relocate. Training must be conducted to community representatives, which on their own would assess their topography’s susceptibility to landslide. Experts need to provide corresponding comprehensible correlations for the community that would signal danger.
